Android, the Worlds most popular Mobile Operating System now cared by Google is based on Linux Kernel. We have shared few things about Android in our earlier posts.

First 5 things to do with Android – Part 1
If you have used any of Linux operating system for your personal or business needs, one thing you miss is some most popular Windows Applications. In that case, there is a software called WINE.
Wine (originally an acronym for “Wine Is Not an Emulator”) is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications on several POSIX-compliant operating systems, such as Linux, macOS, & BSD. Instead of simulating internal Windows logic like a virtual machine or emulator, Wine translates Windows API calls into POSIX calls on-the-fly, eliminating the performance and memory penalties of other methods and allowing you to cleanly integrate Windows applications into your desktop. – winehq.org
In above information directly from Wine Project website, we get the idea about what is it and what is it supposed to do?
Relation between Android & WINE and Windows Executable (.exe)?
As just we have told in the beginning of this article, we shared Android is based on Linux. Means, If WINE works on other popular Linux Distros like Ubuntu, Fedora and other most popular versions, it should work with Android as well.
But problem is that, Linux Operating systems install software packages via .deb (Debian derivatives) or archives and Android uses APK (Alpine Linux) format and that too modified from the original one.
Wine has released Android APK for its legendary application and it works with Windows 7 (Build 7600) as its kernel base. We have installed and checked the feature WINE in Android and result is really awesome.
