Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19603 for Fast-ring insiders

Microsoft has released new Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19603 for insiders in fast-ring today with many new features. This build is from 20H2 flight which will be released for general public towards the end of third quarter this year.

What’s new in Windows 10 Insider Build 19603?

Main highlights of this build are changes and some new features which will be exciting to use.

File Explorer integration with WSL (Linux)

Windows File Explorer can now display files from your Windows Sub-system for Linux installation. If you have installed WSL, you will see Linux Icon in left pane of File Explorer just below Network.

User Cleanup in Storage Settings

You remember classic Disc Cleanup utility when you choose to view Properties of your hard disk partition in Windows? Well this is going to be integrated with Storage setting.

If you open Settings then choose System and open Storage option, you will see cleanup recommendations.

As for the current available categories, your files will be displayed categorized in five types which are following.

  1. Temporary Files
  2. Large or Unused Files
  3. Recent Files
  4. Files Synced to Cloud
  5. Unused Apps

There will be checkbox for each file and you can choose to keep or clean as per your need.

Introducing Microsoft News Bar

Microsoft News Bar is new app with news content from over 4500 world’s most respected journalism brands. It can be customized according to user preference and have support for most of Windows 10 native features like Dark Mode, Multi-screen etc.

However, this app is currently available for United States only and you can get it from Microsoft Store. Link to Microsoft News Bar is below.

Raw Image Extension now supports Canon CR3 format

Support for Canon’s latest CR3 raw format has been a popular request ever since the Raw Image Extension was announced and then released to the store in 2019. If you’ve been waiting for this feature, we have good news for you. The latest version of the extension (1.0.307610.0) that’s now flighting to Windows Insiders includes support for Canon CR3 files, increased camera support, and several bug fixes.

General Changes in Improvements in Windows 10 Insider Build 19603

There are lots of bug-fixes and improvements over previous build. Fixed issues include some of following.

  1. Webcam error on Microsoft Teams
  2. SSOD error fix
  3. Printscreen not saving to file fixed
  4. Many IME improvements.
  5. Others
